Ty Showers composes and produces fusion, jazz, electronic jazz, nu-jazz, downtempo, jazz funk, jazz rock, electronic chill and an occasional slow jam.
Ty got his start as an R&B guitarist at 12. By age 16, he had played with The Drifters and started his own band, Marcedes. He discovered jazz fusion. Inspired by artists like Jean-Luc Ponty, Chick Corea, and other fusion pioneers, Ty began experimenting with synthesizers and digital sequencers.
A multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, drums, flute, and a variety of keyboards), Ty spends most of his time composing and recording electronic music. Ty is reworking his extensive early catalogue. Recent work remains true to his original vision, combining jazz, R&B, funk, and fusion influences, and creating his own sensuous, signature sound.
